Milkshake IPA: history and features of the style

Milkshake IPA is a subgenre of New England IPA. It appeared relatively recently, in 2015, thanks to the Omnipollo brewery.

This type of ale is distinguished by a large number of fruit additives, unfermented sugars and additives in the form of spices, such as vanilla. All this creates a creamy rich texture. Some add wheat flour, barley or oatmeal, and pectin-rich applesauce to make the body even more cloudy.

The main ingredient in milkshake IPA, in contrast to the juicy or hazy IPA is a lactose. The beer turns out to be sweet with tart fruit notes, like in our Milk of Amnesia. Despite the conditional non-photogenic nature of this beer, the style has gained worldwide popularity and is one of the most popular on the market.
