Nut Butter: nutty magic in every sip

We embarked on a journey to explore the history of British brown ale in collaboration with Shepherd Neame, one of the oldest breweries in the UK. Together, we’ve succeeded in preserving the unique qualities of this classic style, crafted for discerning connoisseurs. At Gletcher Brewery, we blend tradition and innovation to create a beer that honors its historical roots while remaining fresh and exciting for today’s enthusiasts of fine brews.

Our Nut Butter beer boasts a rich, smoky-nutty hue and a sweet flavor reminiscent of chocolate hazelnut spread. This sweetness is carefully balanced, never overpowering, and gradually gives way to a moderate hop bitterness that unfolds into an aromatic, nutty finish. The distinctive nutty notes are achieved through a meticulous balance of malt and hops, making every bottle a harmonious masterpiece of flavor.

The beer’s foundation lies in German Pale Ale and Munich malt, with special malts like Cara Dark Malt, Cara 120, Special B from the Dingemans malt house, and Golden Naked Oats—an English malt from Simpson Malt that imparts its signature nutty taste. During fermentation, we add a natural Italian nut extract, exclusively developed for Gletcher Brewery’s Nut Butter, enhancing its complex and captivating flavor.

This beer is a bridge between past and present, preserving timeless brewing traditions while incorporating modern techniques to uncover new dimensions of nutty richness. Each bottle tells a story inspired by centuries-old heritage and cutting-edge craftsmanship.
